Something is happening…

With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

These were the words uttered by Abraham Lincoln in his Second Inaugural Address in 1865, just weeks before he got assassinated. In the midst of the Civil War, Lincoln's push to end slavery in the U.S. reflected the noblest qualities of the Saturn-Neptune alignment, which was transiting from 1861 to 1865—the same alignment we are experiencing today (2024-2027).

Saturn symbolizes boundaries, rigidity, the weight of history, and timeless wisdom. Neptune, on the other hand, symbolizes porousness, wholeness, illusory escape, and universal love.

When these two planets meet in alignment, the archetypal weather can soften rigid walls, as seen in the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, or they can corrode structures from within, as in the Watergate scandal of the 1970s, when faith in government dissolved into widespread disillusion.

The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 dissolved not only a concrete barrier in the heart of Germany, but also the political and ideological boundaries that had divided East and West for nearly three decades.

If you're living in America—or even just keeping up with it—then you're probably attuned to the immense political divide that has gripped the nation these past couple of years. The current hot topic is free speech. From political activist Charlie Kirk's assassination to late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel's attempted cancelation, the nation seems to be in a soup of disillusionment. It undeniably feels as though America is falling deeper into the pit of self-destruction.

Or so one might think...I have actually been delightfully surprised by the embrace of compassion in the past several days, from both the left and the right. For instance, in his comeback monologue, Jimmy Kimmel said:

I want to thank the people who DON'T support my show but support my right to share those beliefs anyways. People who I never would have imagined: Ben Shapiro, Clay Travis, Candace Owens, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, and even Ted Cruz... Even though I don't agree with many of those people on most subjects, some of the things they say even make me want to throw up. It takes courage for them to speak out against this administration, and they did, and they deserve credit for it.

This was truly remarkable to see and hear. In the midst of ideological conflict, a softening is occurring. The division between left and right may be easing. But perhaps the most remarkable moment of all—one that truly signifies the dignified purity of the Saturn-Neptune alignment—was Erika Kirk's speech on Sunday, where she forgave Charlie Kirk's assassin in front of the entire world, referencing the forgiveness that Christ taught her.

It was an act of profound compassion that moved many on the left and the right to find within themselves a sense of forgiveness for their own enemies. Even Kimmel, during his monologue, applauded Kirk for her spirit while in tears:

Erika Kirk forgave the man who shot her husband…That is an example we should follow. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, as I do, there it was. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow. It touched me deeply.

So, I wholeheartedly believe something is brewing in the collective unconscious, and it is moving toward love, compassion, and nobility. And yet, these virtues are not easily won; they are forged through pain, struggle, and unwavering dignity in the face of suffering.

We archetypally anticipated this theme in 2023 in our article titled The Zeitgeist to Come, and so we pray (Neptune) and build (Saturn) toward a culture that embraces the most life-giving qualities of the Saturn-Neptune alignment, which will continue unfolding until 2027.

Carlos Acutis: God's Influencer

Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old boy who died of leukemia in 2006, was canonized by the Catholic Church on September 7, becoming the first millennial saint. To be canonized means the Church officially recognizes a person as a saint after confirming miracles attributed to them. Acutis became known for using the internet to catalog Eucharistic miracles, which earned him the title of “patron saint of the internet.”

This event reflects the current Saturn–Neptune alignment (2024–2027) in the act of honoring (Saturn) a miracle worker as a saint (Neptune). It also expresses the Uranus–Pluto alignment (2021–2032), not only through Acutis’s youthful (Uranus) power (Pluto) but also in his capacity to use technology (Uranus) to spark a mass movement (Pluto). His body is now displayed in Santa Maria Maggiore, preserved with a wax covering and dressed not in robes but in the everyday clothes of a teenager: a tracksuit top, jeans, and sneakers.

It is not surprising that 2025 has seen more Americans joining the Catholic Church than in decades, signaling a wider cultural turn toward faith. This movement echoes the Saturn–Neptune theme we have been tracking at Numinous Realm since 2024: a return to the sacred, and a longing for the divine to re-enter everyday life.
