Traffic from 26 Countries

As of my review this morning, Numinous Realm now reaches 26 countries with our content. I love this stat because Numinous Realm, though it is “organized as a business,” is actually helping to seed a planetary revolution in cosmology. In our view, just as the Enlightenment was initiated in Europe and came to transform life across the globe, in a similar way Re-Enchantment has been synthesized in the United States—initially within the intellectual-spiritual cauldron of the California coast of the late 20th century (within the transpersonal psychology community)—and is now gradually reaching the entire globe. This is occurring as humanity begins to consider the structural deficiency of the prevailing worldview known as “Material Reductionism,” while at the same time remaining wary of reverting to a pre-Enlightenment sense of superstition, tradition, and “blind faith” as guiding values.

One way to consider Re-Enchantment is to see it as an integration of what can be symbolized by two theorists: Isaac Newton and his reductionism of the 17th century, and Carl Jung’s recognition of the collective unconscious in the 20th century. I must affirm the incompleteness of this metaphor, as it has more to do with my own “situatedness” and personal journey of discovery than any kind of absolute statement of reality. However, others may find it useful as well. Within a Newtonian paradigm, we have certainty about the laws of physics—an approach Elon Musk famously espouses in his transformative crusade. And yet, physics can tell us very little about “meaning.” So much so that many rationalists attempt to wrangle meaning into a closet of vacuous self-absorption, rather than face the frightening prospect that the cosmos may indeed be filled with meaning. While the Middle Ages often saw this meaning as encoded in religious doctrine, Re-Enchantment—by building on a perception of archetypes that are both transcendent and immanent—allows each person to reclaim the meaning of their own lives by linking even the smallest of everyday experiences to the Numinous.

After the United States, our second largest audience is in China, followed by Germany—thus we may expand our content translation into Mandarin at some point down the line.

Happy New Year, and here’s to a world in transformation—as experienced within the lives of each of us.
